On Feb. 5, 2018, ride-sharing application Lyft announced that it would expand its pre-tax commuter benefits from four cities to 18 cities. Originally offered in Boston, Miami, New York City and Seattle, these commuter benefits are now also available in Atlanta, Austin, Chicago, Denver, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Nashville, New Jersey, Philadelphia, Portland, San Diego, San Francisco, San Jose/Silicon Valley and Washington, D.C.
Covered benefits are only available with the Lyft Line carpooling service and these enable riders to save more than 35 percent compared to traditional Lyft services.
