Through service offices in Burbank, New York, Baton Rouge, Albuquerque, Toronto and Vancouver, Cast & Crew provides ATL and BTL payroll services to the Motion Picture, Television and Commercial Industries and offers its comprehensive PSL family of production accounting software.

Basic Role

This position's basic function is to support the Accounting Department's daily operation with heavy emphasis on general ledger maintenance and reconciliation, journal entry creation, period end accounting, support schedules for financial reporting as well as special projects. Employees at this level are well aware of the Accounting Department's operating procedures and policies.

Key Functions

  • Perform monthly bank account reconciliations
  • Monthly non cash account reconciliations for GL accounts
  • Consolidating Cast & Crew's Insurance subsidiary quarterly financials
  • Prepare and upload monthly journal entries
  • Maintain daily and month end foreign currency rates and run monthly translation process
  • Maintain prepaid amortization schedule
  • Monthly balancing and settlement of intercompanies
  • Debt maintenance including preparation of the roll forward, facilitating payments, covenant calculations and compliance letters
  • Assist with monthly preparation of the financial reporting package
  • Assist with the external procurement card program
  • Complete regulatory compliance filings
  • Research and resolve problems pertaining to Payroll System interface
  • Respond to internal and external customer inquiries
  • Prepare schedules required for the external financial audit and tax preparation as assigned
  • Create and update desktop procedures for all assigned tasks
  • Serve as a backup for other Staff Accountants in the department
  • Special projects as assigned by the department's management

  • BS in Accounting/BA or BS in business or directly related field
  • Minimum of 2 years accounting experience
  • Good knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Strong computer skills including Excel, Word & MS Outlook
  • Ability to query data bases is a plus
  • Experience in the entertainment industry and/or payroll processing is a plus

Physical Demands

  • SEDENTARY - Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, or pull. Involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
