Position Overview

Cast & Crew builds software used by many of Hollywood's largest film, television, and commercial production companies and we’re looking for a Sr. Software Engineer to join our team!  This role will help to build our next generation of client/server and web based products, while developing new features for our existing applications. The ideal candidate will be a versatile, highly motivated team player with a solid understanding of software development best practices.  A background in financial systems development is also desirable.

Key Functions

  • As part of a small team, build and enhance accounting and payroll software for the entertainment industry
  • Work closely with QA, business analysts and customers to design and implement new feature requests
  • Follow best practices related to coding, testing and building software using Java
  • Implement large, complex enterprise software systems from the ground up
  • Recommend new technologies, tools and standards to improve efficiency and productivity within the team

Requirements

  • 5+ years hands-on enterprise Java development (Weblogic, Swing, Oracle ADF, report engine experience a plus)
  • 4+ years building RESTful web applications in an enterprise environment
  • 2+ years using SQL and relational databases (Oracle preferred)
  • Java network programming and multithreaded development experience required
  • Expert knowledge of OO design, data structures and algorithms
  • Working knowledge of Agile development methodologies and best practices
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills a must
  • Experience using scripting languages such as Perl, PHP, Ruby, Python
  • Financial systems background a plus
  • BSCS or equivalent, advanced degree a plus
