Position Overview
Seeking a Quality Assurance Analyst for a regular, full-time position in Burbank. This position will ensure that Quality Assurance Tests are performed on a daily basis and software is tested as required.
The candidate will require a strong quality assurance background with the ability to put Cast & Crew software through its paces and detect issues with the software from a customer point of view. The role also requires excellent communication skills (interpersonal, listening, written and oral), in order to work with other departments to convey requirements and problem areas with the software. The candidate must be self-motivated, organized, thorough with attention to detail and able to capture detailed software issue information and communicate it to others.
Primary Responsibilities
- Review user stories, acceptance criteria, specifications and other available information
- Develop test plans and test cases to support validation of user stories
- Write test cases to validate acceptance criteria and identify software defects
- Automate test cases and update existing automated test scripts
- Generate Quality Assurance reports and provide test metrics as needed
- Execute and monitor automated test suites
- Collect test data results from various sources including log files, tester output, system event monitors, databases and other software measurement tools
- Provide and report detailed evidence of software defect events
- Evaluate test results and provide recommendations to aid software development bug resolution
- Maintain automated and manual test scripts
- Be able to work in a fast paced test environment
- Foster a Quality culture within Cast & Crew
Core Competencies
General IT Knowledge
- Knowledge of industry standard Software Development Life Cycle methodologies, participation in Agile software development a plus
- Must have experience with Quality Assurance practices including functional application decomposition, test planning and test case development
- Knowledge of batch file use
- Experience with Linux shell commands
- Experience with Oracle SQL commands
- Experience using VBScript
Testing
- Ability to develop and maintain test procedures and test cases from user stories
- Ability to automate test cases using QTP
- Ability to execute manual test cases and be able to find and report issues accurately and in detail
- Ability to use software defect reporting software
- Ability to use version control software for maintaining test scripts and test procedures
- Experience testing Windows and Mac clients
- Experience testing web-based systems and services (.NET, Java, Swing, HTML, XML)
- Experience with PSL or testing production payroll systems a plus
Communications Skills
- Must be adept with electronic collaboration and communication tools and processes
- Must have professional demeanor and good oral and written communication skills
- Able to work effectively and collaboratively with local and remote project team members
- Must be able to work in a dynamic environment and capable of both giving and taking constructive feedback
- Ability to prepare clear, concise and professional looking documentation

Requirements
- 3-5 years of Software Quality Assurance experience
- 1-2 years of software test automation using QTP
- 1-2 years of Agile Software Development Methodology experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
